Miris Malu (Spicy Fish Curry)

Here's how to make a spicy fish curry. This fish preparation is pretty famous in Down south of Sri Lanka.

  • Yields: 4 portions


1 lb. fish

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

3 1/4 teaspoons chillie powder

3/4 teaspoon pepper powder

2 cinnamons

2-3 pieces goraka

A thin slice of ginger ground

4 cloves garlic ground

2 spings curry leaves


Cut the fish into pieces and wash it using lime juice.

And then wash it with normal water.

Add all the ingredients, mix it well and keep it for 5 - 10 Minutes.

Add water slowly and toss for a few minutes taking care not to break fish (use a small pan so that the liquid covers the fish).

Bring to boil and simmer steadily till done and gravy is bit thick.
